Freezing Assets – Is the New Ice Age Hurting the British Building Industry?

Winter has changed in the UK. For the last three years, we’ve been the startled recipients of real snowfall, proper ice, sub zero temperatures: real winter, in other words, the kind of weather that makes you think twice about going outside. It’s certainly making the building industry think more than once about going outside – frozen sites, supply lorries stuck on gridlocked motorways, temperatures too low to legally lay foundations: none of it looks good for the British construction industry. The last two winters have seen some painful delays and costly project disruptions that pessimistic industry figures have claimed construction will never recover from.

There is, however, always a way. Cold winters require heating that works – and rising energy prices demand heating that is as energy efficient as possible. All of this is work that can be done inside- where things don’t freeze to each other and where plummeting temperatures are not affecting the workability of common building materials. The new ice age means new building requirements for every British home: and that means plenty of good work for the construction industry. Check out www.london-builders-pro.co.uk for a fantastic range of energy efficient heating and glazing ideas; and some advice on how to deal with the Big Freeze in a cost effective and long lasting way.

London Builders Pro are proud of every single construction project completed.
